Job Description

The Clerk safely operates electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, elevating platform, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials. The Clerk also unloads, reconciles and records receiving of all in-coming materials, prepares items for movement/storage by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Compares identifying information and counts items in incoming shipments to verify information against bills of ladings, packing lists, invoices, orders or other records.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, records damaged items, records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Obtains shipment storage location.
  • Operates lift truck or uses hand truck to move shipments from loading dock to storage or work area.
  • Routes individual items to departments.
  • Shrink wraps pallets of material to be moved if required.
  • Enters receipts into AS 400 and complete appropriate documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Must be licensed to operate lift equipment. Licensing may be through internal or external training.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
  • Write simple correspondence in English.
  • Speak effectively with other associates and delivery personnel in English.
  • Deal with issues in standardized situations.
  • Exhibit positive attitude regarding work and responsibilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within teams
  • Ability to maintain effectiveness during major changes in work tasks or the work environment; adjusting effectively to within new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures
  • Continuously look for ways to do things faster and better, while maintaining high quality standards
  • Is creative and intellectually curious; tries different and novel ways to solve obstacles
