GDH Consulting has partnered with a growing leader in the financial/IT space.  We are looking for a cloud engineer to design, implement, and manage a cloud-based infrastructure for a financial institution. We are looking for an engineer interested in working as a member of an IT Operations and Infrastructure team, demonstrate an advanced working knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features with a focus on security, automation, and scalability. As a Cloud Engineer you will make design recommendations based on best practices, implement cloud infrastructure and manage operational support tasks, as well as act as a subject matter expert on Cloud Infrastructure.  This position is open to a remote work with preference for someone in Central time zone.  

The ideal candidate will have experience with infrastructure as a code, automating and building out servers, and building script and code in an AWS environment.  Experience in a Linux environment is a must.  SAP experience is also preferred.

As Cloud Engineer you will:

·         Design, Implement, and Manage Cloud based infrastructure to support critical systems, taking into account operational, security, and regulatory requirements.

·         Monitor cloud infrastructure for alerts and issues. Develop and follow incident response plan for cloud infrastructure issues; analyze technology trends and practices to recommend proactive solutions; protect sensitive information.

·         Participate in the selection and management of 3rd party support vendors for the day to day operational support of the cloud infrastructure; monitor ticket queue; ensure support tickets and updated and resolved in a timely manner. Work with international resources on the creation and support of infrastructure.

·         Ensure documentation of cloud infrastructure is current and updated following all changes, problems or major outages.

·         Oversee and conduct regular operational review and testing of all cloud-based infrastructure in order to identify system instabilities; Participate in implementation of upgrades and changes as necessary; proactively recommend solutions related to operational issues and opportunities; stay abreast of technology trends and changes in the banking industry.

·         Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Protection Act (BPA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Consumer Credit Protection Act (CCPA), Children Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Gramm Leach Bliley Act (GLBA), Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Financial Institutions Regulatory and Interest Rate Control Act (FIRIRCA), Financial Service Modernization Act (FSMA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), Right to Financial Privacy Act (RFPA), the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

 

Experience:

·         Five to Ten years of experience in IT Infrastructure across multiple disciplines and direct experience working in cloud environments.

 

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

·         Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

·         Cloud Infrastructure certification strongly preferred.

·         Infrastructure (CompTIA+) or Application (SAP Certification CER006) certification preferred.

·         CISSP, GIAC, or CompTIA Security+ certification preferred.

·         Membership in Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), Computing Research Association (CRA), IEEE Computer Society, and CompTIA preferred.

 

Interpersonal Skills:

·         A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, co-workers, and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience. Ability to communications at a high level across all levels of the organization.

 

Operational Technical Skills:

·         Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2, VPC, IAM, Security Groups, Roles, S3, CloudWatch, Code Commit, SSO Integration.

·         Microsoft Azure infrastructure, Active Directory, SSO Integration.

·         SAP, Microsoft 365, Cloud technology and infrastructure best practices, Automation, Server OS. Load Balancer, certificate management, DNS, DevOPs Processes.
