Description
Description: SAIC seeks a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to play a key role on an Agile DevOps team that enables US Space Command to share space satellite/debris data to organizations outside of the Department of Defense. This role directly contributes to the protection of the space environment, astronauts, and potentially the general public. This team supports the Combined Force Space Component Command and the 18th Space Control Squadron on Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA, with with a primary work location of Santa Maria. Working with a hybrid environment that includes a LAMP stack, the Cloud Engineer will help expedite migration of web applications to the cloud to improve scalability as the number of objects in space rapidly and exponentially increase. The successful applicant will integrate well, and work within a highly productive and motivated team to create successful solutions that are imaginative, practical, and consistent with the organizations' objectives.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Design hybrid connectivity between cloud services provider and on-premise networks;
Design, deploy, and operate various cloud resources;
Design, deploy, and operate cloud-native, hybrid cloud, and on-premise web applications.

Qualifications
Qualifications
Experience
- At least 2 years of experience designing and configuring solutions reliant on cloud IaaS services (e.g., Compute, Kubernetes, Storage, Identity and Access Management, Virtual Private Cloud, Load Balancing)
- Demonstrated proficiency coding and creating automation in PHP, Python, or similar
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Terraform, Ansible and others
- Experience using Agile software development methods (Scrum, TDD, Pair Programming, etc.)
- Experience developing, deploying and operating production applications across cloud service providers and on premises solutions
Education, Training and Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or related field) and 2 years of experience in Software Engineering/Web Development/Programming
- Google Certified Associate Cloud Engineer (ACE) or equivalent certifications from other cloud service providers
Clearance
- ability to obtain an TopSecret / SCI

- Strong understanding of Linux system, networking, and network protocols such as NTP, DNS, SMTP, BGP, SSH, HTTP/HTTPS,TLS
- Understanding of software design and construction using modern technologies, techniques, and architectures (e.g. Service Oriented Architecture)
- Understanding of complex access and security models
- Experience in coolly and efficiently debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical issues
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills conducive to teamwork and collaboration
Education, Training and Certifications
- Master’s Degree with technical concentration and zero (0) years of experience

Target salary range: $105,001 - $115,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
