Job Summary
The Cloud Engineer position is responsible for provisioning, configuring, and supporting our organization's cloud infrastructure. Leveraging industry best practices and your expertise in cloud technologies, you will contribute to the development of reliable and secure cloud-based solutions. You will also be working closely with IT and business teams to ensure the seamless integration of their applications and the cloud service providers.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and optimize cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, ensuring proper resource utilization, cost efficiency, and adherence to security best practices.
  • Implement monitoring solutions to track system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resource utilization, ensuring the availability and reliability of cloud services.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guidelines.
  • Utilize tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment, enabling efficient and reproducible environments.
  • Implement robust security measures to safeguard cloud environments, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement cloud-based solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and scalability requirements.
  • Work closely with development and operations teams to facilitate smooth integration of applications with cloud services.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud computing. Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and optimization within the cloud infrastructure.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of course work and job experience
  • 5+ years' experience working in cloud environments and understanding of cloud infrastructure (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP))
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing domain preferred
  • Strong scripting experience including BASH, PowerShell, REST/API
  • Experience with cloud automation.
  • Understanding of modern cloud technology components and deployment patterns: virtual machines, containers, Kubernetes, serverless, infrastructure as code, etc.
  • Experience deploying/supporting hybrid infrastructure on-prem private cloud and public cloud (Azure)
  • Develop and implement standards and best practices as it relates to private/public cloud solutions
  • Architecture best practices knowledge

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple responsibilities
  • Executes with limited supervision
  • Understanding of hybrid cloud and multi-cloud architectures

  • Azure Certified Solutions Architect
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
  • Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
