Modern healthcare and financial systems process very valuable and sensitive data. We, at InterSystems, build the data platform that is core to managing this data behind the scenes. Our Product Architecture and Security group is looking for a talented individual who has a desire to ensure that the data used in critical health care, financial, and government systems does not fall into the wrong hands.

The Security Architecture and Engineering group is responsible for the security posture of the InterSystems data platform and cloud services. The team achieves this by maintaining the InterSystems security development lifecycle (SDLC) and working closely with experts across the company to improve security practices. Your primary role as a Cloud Security Engineer would be to serve as a technical leader in the development of our DevSecOps program used in delivering our cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Participate in cross functional teams that include Global Trust, Product Management, Support, Sales, Release Engineering, and Quality Development to drive maturity in the SDLC
• Take an active role in maintaining the InterSystems cloud infrastructure and security policies
• Review and recommend improvements to cloud operational processes and procedures
• Advise technical leaders on key differences between most popular cloud provider solutions and cloud orchestration tools (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
• Provide guidance on best practices related to managing and deploying containers
• Perform technical security reviews of existing and proposed cloud architecture
• Provide security requirements for new service offerings
• Review the configuration of the deployed cloud infrastructure
• Track and report on the remediation efforts of security issues
• Represent the Security Architecture and Engineering group in cloud scrum meetings
• Provide input on the evolution of our microservice architecture
• Drive improvements in the InterSystems approach to infrastructure as code
• Triage security incidents escalated by our Managed Security Service Provider

Required Qualifications

• BS in computer science or related field
• Deep knowledge and practical experience with DevSecOps principles, securing container-based applications and various CICD/orchestration tools
• Experience Implementing Service Meshes (Istio, Envoy, etc.)
• Experience Managing Network control planes and agents (Calico, Flannel, Contiv, Contrail, etc.)
• Knowledge and understanding in various disciplines such as security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, and application security
• Strong communication and presentation skill

Preferred Qualification:

• 4+ years in a cloud services organization or DevOps/DevSecOps role
• Master's degree in a relevant field
• Background in Unix preferred as well as experience using container technologies (i.e. Docker or Kubernetes)
• Active member of IT Security user groups or security certification (CISSP, CEH, OSCP, etc.)
