Your Role

As a key member of the Microbiome services franchise, the Commercial and business development candidate is accountable to show strong business acumen in order to build a successful account and territory plans and translate territory strategy into business results. The responsibilities are defined as follows:

Identify potential customers and build pipeline:

  • Create customer database,
  • Communicate voice of customer and market intelligence, and develop customer facing technical seminar content

Quote and execute customer service contracts:
  • Drive, evaluate, sign and execute service contracts to achieve annual revenue targets for Microbiome services
  • Own and manage customer reporting opportunity pipeline in Sales Force Dot Com (SFDC) & SAP

Business Development:
  • Familiarity with contracts & licensing for business development opportunities to build industry partnerships

Build relationships:
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and build constructive relationships with stakeholders in a matrix organization, including but not limited to Regional sales teams, R&D and operations.
  • Collaborate with Microbiome products and equipment to cross-promote customer facing workflow collateral to promote Microbiome Services to existing and new customers.

General requirements:
  • Develop strong technical knowledge in the area of Microbiome and demonstrate technical credibility to effectively influence key decisions on technology and product choices
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of time, when possible/safe to do so.
  • Reports to Head of Marketing & Commercial, Microbiome Services.

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • MSc/Ph.D. in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Microbiology.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Good oral and written English level
  • 3+ years of experience in the microbiome field of research
  • Related experience in metagenomics or metabolomics in microbiome research is favorable
  • Strong networking skills. Existing broad network of relevant customers is favorable
  • Advanced skills in Business Intelligence and Sales reporting tools (Tableau, SAP Business Objects, SFDC)
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, One Note)
  • Effective communication skills (ability to clearly communicate metrics and data)
  • Proficient in New Product Introduction (NPI) gate process
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Highly motivated with entrepreneurial attitude
  • Team player with ability to identify and solve problems in an independent manner
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Great interpersonal and communicational skills and strong presentation skills
  • Well organized, capable of handling multiple customer service projects at once and able to work independently
  • Quickly adapt to changes
