Job Title: Commercial Service Field Supervisor

General Summary:

Provide supervision, safety and technical support to the commercial service (field) technicians. Ensure quality in workmanship and profitability of the Team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance and on-site training for team members. Regularly evaluate skills and create a development plan for each Technician. Perform Service Technician evaluations one time/year for journeyman and two times/year for tradesman and apprentices.
  • Assist and train the technicians in their communication with the customer.
  • Train the Technicians on the proper completion of all additional work (recommended repairs).
  • Monitor call activity and respond to all customers with excessive call activity.
  • Perform minimum 4 "Quality Checks" per month on preventative maintenance agreement customers.
  • Provide for response to emergency service calls when the primary technician is unavailable.
  • Ensure completion of preventative maintenance inspections within the scheduled month and allotted time.
  • Ensure adequate manpower to accomplish work within the team area. Keep the Service Manager advised of needs and performance of the Service Technicians.
  • Perform quality checks on Service Technicians that are part of the team. Report exceptions to the Service Manager.
  • Hold monthly Safety/Team meetings to keep Service Technicians informed on policy and procedures, performance and goals of the company.
  • Manage communication between the Technicians, Dispatcher and our customers.
  • Ensure compliance of all team members to safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all quotes provided to customers are followed up on.
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring and enforcing all processes.
  • Responsible for orientation of all new Technicians.
  • Manage communication between field personnel and the Service Manager/Dispatchers.
  • Work directly with Sales / Account Managers on new and existing customer opportunities or issues.

  • Requirements:
  • Extensive HVAC field knowledge with minimum 7 years working in the field.
  • Extensive Safety knowledge and training
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills a plus.
  • Ability to organize and plan daily responsibilities effectively.
  • Ability to wear a company uniform and maintain a neat personal appearance. Provide the example for the Service Technicians to follow.
  • This position will require an Emcor background check and drug screening. Additional background checks may be required by some of our customers.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
  • Ability to stand, sit or squat for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, move and carry material up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work at extended heights.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). i.e. but not limited to, dust mask, gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, NFPA-70E.
