Supervises the Commissions accountant and coordinator team, including assignment and monitoring of all work to ensure producers are appointed and licensed and accurately paid for all lines of business.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to manage, direct, lead and motivate staff members in task completion and problem solving.
  • Ability to demonstrate analytical skills and strengths in diagnosing complex problems and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize task assignments to ensure established quality guidelines and/or deadlines are met.
  • Maintains department metrics and stats; works with the staff to ensure established SLA's are achieved.
  • Knowledge of project methodology practices and deliverables.
  • Writes and executes ad-hoc reports and develops data extracts. Performs regression testing of fixes, enhancements, and assists with system upgrades. Performs post implementation quality assurance, trouble-shooting and issue resolution.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and continuous oversight of departmental desk policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for gathering business requirements and creating documentation of system configuration, data flow, and business process changes. Oversees the coordination of testing and works closely with business partners to implement solutions.
  • Ensures compliance within the department to all policies and procedures as they pertain to a specific duty assignment.
  • Represents the department as a member of company-wide teams and work groups.
  • Prepares and delivers department staff's performance reviews.
  • Identifies and communicates goals, changes, organizational impacts, performance needs, maintenance issues and new processes.


Minimum Requirements:
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with proven ability to provide responsive leadership to delegate, coordinate and motivate staff. Strong leadership capability includes development, support, coaching, and setting clear direction.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, excellent verbal and written communication, a customer service orientation, tolerance for ambiguity, and demonstrated presentation skills.
  • Listen and communicate effectively with diverse groups such as producers, sales, external agencies, executives, and coworkers in a manner that promotes positive and professional interaction.
  • Advanced competency in understanding system configuration and data with the ability to mitigate and correct system and business process errors to ensure accurate payments to producers.
  • Ability to effectively interpret, present, and make informed decisions on metrics and data.
  • Demonstrated analytical ability in identifying problems, developing solutions, and implementing a course of action.
  • Ability to skillfully and quickly manage escalations, including high visibility or high priority issues or requests.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
Normally to be proficient in the competencies listed above:

The Commissions Supervisor would have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field and 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in finance operations, preferably with an emphasis in disbursements and/or commissions systems, and experience in defining and analyzing business requirements or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
