Job Summary:

Responsible for researching, developing and writing key internal, external and development communications, as well as overseeing the hospitals social media footprint and digital reputation management. Provide direct support to the Director of Communications and Media Relations and Graphic Arts Specialist.

  • Serve as primary storyteller and content developer of electronic and print newsletters and communication campaigns, annual report, leadership messaging, and other internal and external communications requests. Also serves to primary guide for review and production of these materials
  • Lead the hospital social media efforts, sharing news, patient and family human interest stories with targeted audiences; researches which platforms are the best match for the hospital's key goals, messages, and audiences.
  • Create and implement targeted communications campaigns to deliver results for hospital fundraising, program promotion, and brand awareness goals.
  • Promote special events through social media, website and articles in newsletters.
  • Assist the Media Arts Specialist in producing compelling multimedia pieces, including photography, video, and graphic arts.
  • Support Director of Communications and Media Relations by developing media placement opportunities, expanding industry contacts and securing interview opportunities for subject matter experts
Job Requirements

What we need from you:
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, communications or experience in related field required
  • 1 to 3 years public relations experience required, preferably in health care
  • Strong writing, editing and Microsoft Office skills; excellent personal interaction skills; ability to manage projects under deadline required. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
