Description: Our client, a highly successful public energy company, is currently seeking a Compensation Manager/Senior Manager. This is a new headcount opportunity to join a very specialized international services company!

POSITION/JOB TITLE: Compensation Manager/Senior Manager

DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Chief Human Resources Officer

TRAVEL:Limited travel, may be up to 10% of the time.

THE POSITION:

Responsible for managing the Company's compensation programs, including evaluation, design, administration, and implementation, and leading the compensation function to ensure direct linkage to business strategies and requirements. This role requires specialized depth and breadth of expertise in compensation and regulatory requirements and will involve interaction with manufacturing facilities and business personnel at all levels, including senior management, as well as third-party vendors and service providers. This is a single incumbent role and the successful candidate must be able to think progressively to identify and enable tools and programs for the Company to minimize compensation administration, while also being able to respond to day to day compensation questions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Provides expertise on all compensation programs, including base pay, equity, incentive compensation, performance rewards, and recognition practices.

•Performs research on emerging trends, issues, and best practices in compensation, working with the Company's Executive Compensation Consultant and counsel, as applicable.

•Performs complex analyses of public company market wages, pay practices and trends, develops recommendations and advises management with regard to salary decisions (e.g. new hires, promotions, adjustments) and the Company's overall competitive positioning in the market with regard to compensation.

•Manages compensation market pricing and benchmarking efforts, including identification of benchmarking solutions and participation in market data surveys.

•Participates in salary surveys and researches best practices and peer group compensation activities.

•Supports the Human Resources team members with requests related to job analysis, job evaluation, and benchmarking jobs to be competitive.

•Collaborates with Human Resources colleagues in the field, as well as business leaders, to develop, recommend and implement any new compensation programs, procedures and practices for the Company.

•Analyzes and recommends salary structures for hourly and exempt employee populations.

•Supports the planning and preparation of materials for the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors.

•Works with the Company's Vice President, Assistant General Counsel and Secretary, as well as the Executive Compensation Consultant, on Compensation Committee materials.

•Works with Finance and Legal to support preparation of the annual Compensation Discussion and Analysis ("CD&A") section of the proxy statement. Prepares data, pro forma tables, disclosures and reporting in the proxy compensation tables.

•Calculates performance and associated payout of Company's annual and long-term incentive plans quarterly for employee, Finance Department and Compensation Committee tracking; prepares final payouts for incentive plans at year-end.

•Develops year-end compensation reports.

•Provides technical expertise with regards to compensation programs and processes.

•Manages and participates in special compensation projects and analyses in collaboration with colleagues throughout the Company and/or outside vendors. Creates and monitors project plan, manages project deliverables and evaluates performance against goals. Collaborates with colleagues to collect necessary information and perform analyses.

•Develops techniques for compiling, preparing and presenting data to business partners and stakeholders.

•Develops, coordinates and conducts compensation training and education across the organization, ensuring awareness and understanding of compensation programs

•Ensures compensation programs and policies comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/WORK EXPERIENCE:

•B.S. and/or B.A. in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or a related field.

•Eight to 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in compensation with public company executive compensation experience strongly preferred.

•Experience using Ultipro, UKG, or another HRIS system.

•Project management experience with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.

•Leads others to solve complex problems, and uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify innovative solutions.

•Strong interpersonal skills to communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others at various levels.

•Results driven; skilled at managing and facilitating change, possesses high initiative, is detail oriented and manages multiple priorities effectively.
