Basic Job Functions:
The role of the Construction Solutions Manager of Bridge and Infrastructure Solutions includes managing technical and marketing strategy and tactics as directed, to positively influence the use of steel for bridge design and construction in the marketplace.

The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Develop strategic relationships in the engineering, contractor and owner communities (county and state DOTs & Tollway agencies) to influence the use of steel in projects that may not be competitively considering steel as a viable option.
  • Leverage existing relationships fostered via the internal government affairs team to partner towards building more strategic partnerships and relationships at the state and national level.
  • Steel product offerings may include solutions focused on reinforced concrete solutions, rolled sections, plate girders or even post-tensioned strand solutions that are either optimized based on decision-maker preference or commercially preferred for optimized profitability to Nucor.
  • Roll-out nationwide marketing and technical strategy while managing technical and/or field teammates (as determined).
  • Speak on a national stage and at local levels as a trusted authority on steel's role in bridges and infrastructure and general construction marketplace expertise.
  • Work with CS Director to explore competitive threats to the steel market for both short and long span applications both nationwide and regional specific challenges while developing and executing a long-term strategy to combat those threats.


    • Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant work experience in bridge design or construction using AASHTO and state DOT bridge design standards, procedures, and requirements.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Structural Engineer (SE) license required.


    • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Existing knowledge base of the bridge construction market and its customers with relationships established; with a focus on consulting engineers and DOTs.
  • Past experience in using bridge design and analysis software to assess and evaluate structural solutions for various material options.
  • Proficiency with CRM solutions as a tool to both manage and measure program success both short and long term.
