Job Description

J.S. Held is searching for Consultants and Senior Consultants to join our Cyber, Incident Response team.

As a member of the Cyber Security, Incident Response team, you will be applying your expertise as advisors to our clients, in preventing, preparing, and responding to Cyber incidents. We are looking for cybersecurity experts with experience in: incident response, forensic analysis, network operations, security operations, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Work with industry accepted tools/practices while conducting investigations and analysis as part of the incident response technical team, to include but not limited to host/network-based forensics (Windows, Mac, Linux), log analysis, and malware triage
  • Conduct intrusion investigations under direction from senior leadership and client outside counsel
  • Complete incident analysis, using analytical skills with advanced knowledge of cybersecurity
  • As part of incident response, collaborate with client teams to develop and implement remediation plans
  • Develop and deliver accurate, thorough reports and presentations for both technical and executive audiences
  • Preserve current knowledge of industry trends, threats, methodologies, and core technologies to understand client needs and provide appropriate advice and recommendations
  • Develop strategies to expand the portfolio of services offered and improve the efficiency and consistency of service delivery.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with analyzing log data, digital evidence, and other information collection from cyber evaluations
  • Understanding of data loss / data theft prevention concepts and technologies
  • Understanding of digital forensics concepts and technologies.
  • Experience identifying red flags, validating sources, and making judgment calls about the completeness and open-source information.
  • Able to communicate verbally and in concise written reports
  • Able to work with and communicate with both technical representatives and executives

Attributes & Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Digital Forensics, Information Technology, Information System, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 2+ professional years working in Cybersecurity, or relevant experience
  • Incident response experience conducting or managing incident response investigations
  • Computer and/or network forensic analysis experience including use of forensic analysis tools and knowledge of network protocols
  • Incident remediation experience creating tailored remediation plans at both the strategic and tactical level
  • Advanced decision-making and problem-solving skills under pressure, as well as a strong attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic, eagerness for continued development, and motivation to succeed
  • Ability to interact confidently with senior team members and clients
  • Ability to learn and demonstrate new technologies and workflows
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel as required

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $70,000 - $160,000, plus a discretionary bonus. Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, training, location, scope of role, management responsibility, etc.
