J.S. Held is searching for Consultants and Senior Consultants to join the US Business Intelligence (BI) arm of our Global Investigations group . The Business Intelligence team offers its clients a variety of services, from pre-transaction due diligence to litigation support to market entry analysis to threat assessments; however, at the heart of our offering is the ability to provide our clients with timely and actionable intelligence.

This is a unique opportunity for an inquisitive, highly driven individual to join our rapidly growing team. In addition to having a good grasp of open-source research and strong writing skills, the ideal candidate will have an investigative mindset and the flexibility to take on a variety of tasks.

Job Responsibilities

• Utilize knowledge of proprietary databases, traditional and social media, and other sources of public information to write concise and actionable deliverables in line with client objectives.
• Work closely with US Directors - as well as senior executives in other international offices - to help support in the development of proposals
• Be prepared to call upon JS Held's internal expertise outside of the BI team and, where appropriate, work closely with these experts.
• Maintain a good understanding of the US legal and regulatory environment and apply this knowledge to all local research.
• Attend client meetings and client calls and be prepared to present findings both internally and externally.
• Identify new research tools and information sources to enhance the overall BI offering.

Required Qualifications And Experience

• 3+ years of experience working in an investigative function with a demonstrated track record of conducting open-source research.
• Experience in utilizing US-focused proprietary databases.
• A track record of working diligently through high volumes of information and deciphering what is relevant and how to prioritize and summarize findings.
• Experience in working to tight deadlines, potentially on multiple projects at once, without cutting corners or sacrificing quality.
• BA or higher, preferably in a subject that requires strong written skills.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of programs.

Preferred Qualifications And Experience

• Experience working with clients in either the financial services or legal sectors. An understanding of litigation and disputes consulting a plus.
• Experience conducting interviews and utilizing other HUMINT collection techniques.
• Experience utilizing other tools outside of the Microsoft suite of programs, such as IBM i2.
• Proficiency in either Spanish or Mandarin languages.

Work location:

Our flexible work environment allows employees to work remotely, when needed. Candidates will ideally be located in close proximity to Senior Managing Directors/Managing Directors in the Global Investigations group in New York, Washington DC, Houston or Los Angeles.
