SUMMARY

The Consumables Support Associate is responsible for a broad array of activities to provide service for consumables customers from inquiry to order delivery. This includes responding to customer inquiries, inventory lookup, quote / order processing, material pricing support purchasing support and logistics services (material movements and delivery).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Respond to customer and sales inquiries for material availability / pricing, order status and concerns.

  • Process sales quotes, sales order and returns.

  • Provide sales order acknowledgements and follow-up with customers routinely on orders that are backordered to keep customers and sales informed about delivery.

  • Promptly forward information regarding unresolved issues to supervisor for follow-up, if required.

  • Provide feedback to maintain accurate customer information including contacts and addresses.

  • Pick / prepare shipments and documentation for outgoing shipments.

  • Assist with purchasing functions, as required.

  • Unload incoming materials, ensuring accuracy and quality of materials. After visual inspection of material receipts notify supervisor of damages prior to receipt.

  • Stock product and perform cycle counts and physical inventories as required.

  • Assist with deliveries to customers via company vehicles, as required.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires previous experience in customer service, inside sales, warehouse experience preferred.

  • Requires excellent verbal communication, customer relations skills and must portray a professional image.

  • Requires ability to perform simple arithmetic.

  • Requires good judgment and rational decision-making skills.

  • Must possess basic PC / keyboard skills and the proficient use of software, including Microsoft Office.

  • SAP and knowledge of postal or commercial shipping methods and procedures are preferred.

  • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.

  • Ability to maintain quality and safety control standards and follow safety procedures.

  • Knowledge of light equipment operation including forklift; ability to obtain forklift license preferred.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE


  • High School diploma or work experience.

  • Prior experience and skills in Sales, General Office Duties and Warehouse preferred.


CERTIFICATES, LICENCES or REGISTRATIONS


  • Forklift certification preferred.

  • Legally able to drive a company vehicle (van, truck, or car) to customer locations; ability to be insured for driving company vehicle necessary.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to lift 35-50 lbs. on a regular basis.

  • May need to lift and stock product on/off shelves or racks up to three to four levels with the use of a forklift.

  • In addition, facility also provides orders for customers that may involve processing or handling/inhaling of various fluids or chemicals by employee.
