What We Are Looking For

The Continuous Improvement Manager leads the plant's CI initiatives designed to eliminate waste and non-value-added activities and improve plant performance. This position will provide guidance and act as a resource to the Plant Managers and other plant employees on the selection and project management of Lean projects.

What You Will Do
  • Ensure that the Plant Manager and plant leadership are aware of Global Supply Chain CI requirements/initiatives
  • Lead the planning, development, coordination, support, and execution of high impact (immediate and long term) improvement plans aligned to corporate objectives and for effective and sustainable cost saving initiatives
  • Lead cross-functional Lean and Six Sigma projects to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in short periods of time for improvement results that can be leveraged across plants, functions, and product lines
  • Invent, design, and implement engineering solutions to complex processing efficiency problems
  • Review plant data to identify impactful operational opportunities and drive process improvements including time studies, workflow, standard operating procedures, and proposing equipment upgrades
  • Work with the Plant Manager and plant leadership in analyzing key performance indicators to make the plants better measure, visualize, analyze, improve, report and implement CIs based upon key performance indicators
  • Increase CI (or Operational Excellence) maturity within the plant by acting as a change agent leader in instilling a problem solving and CI culture at each site
  • Lead reporting and root-cause analysis
  • Lead or coach focused improvement activities and teams to improve results like safety, quality, delivery, cost, etc.
  • Lead continuous improvement events such as Kaizens, 5S, Kanban, Root Cause, and other CI efforts to solve problems and eliminate production waste
  • Facilitate and co-facilitate various CI related workshops and training events
  • Ensure that CI training, tools, test practices and resources are available and understood by employees at all levels and are being utilized appropriately and effectively
  • Develop and execute a communication plan to support the rollout and education on continuous improvements to the plant
  • Coach CI concepts and the process of developing and deploying effective standard work practices to eliminate waste and improve quality across the plants
  • Share and reapply proven methods from other locations as appropriate
  • Communicate such changes in CI's promptly to all to ensure consistency
What You Will Bring
  • Years of Experience: 5+ years' experience leading Lean Transformations and Six Sigma in manufacturing operations, educating others on Lean principles and deployment planning
  • 3+ years hands on experience using modern Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement methods (LEAN, TPS, SQDCI,DMAIC, DMADV, etc.) and deploying transactional lean, manufacturing lean, and various reduction methodologies
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process improvement techniques
  • Advanced knowledge of machines and tools and their designs and uses
  • Proven team-building experience
  • Strong project management, organizational, analytical, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thought processes to develop, recommend and implement strategies and programs that address plant and corporate objectives
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills up and down the organizational hierarchy to include corporate offices
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and influence on those with whom there is not a reporting relationship
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict effectively and problem solve
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities
