Holman Automotive is looking for a Contracts Legal Analyst to join the Holman Family!

The Contracts Legal Analyst will manage the commercial contract review and negotiation workflow for the Holman Automotive Group's retail automotive operations. The Contracts Legal Analyst will work closely with the legal team and stakeholders across the company, and is expected to be self-motivated and able to operate independently. This position must (i) maintain legal files and manage contract management software records, (ii) assist the legal team in reviewing a variety of commercial contracts, (iii) prepare initial drafts of a variety of contract forms from company templates, (iv) assist in the negotiation of a variety of contracts, (v) help ensure corporate policies are enforced and adhered to, and (vi) collaborate with corporate legal, risk, sourcing and finance departments as needed. The Contracts Legal Analyst will report to the Associate General Counsel for Holman Automotive.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in and/or manage review of contracts, including responding promptly to requests for contract review and ensuring timely turnaround on all contracting requests.
  • Review contract terms to identify potential risk or compliance issues and elevate such issues to appropriate internal departments.
  • Prepare standard contracts from company templates; negotiate standard contracts using playbook of alternative provisions; collaborate with legal team and other internal stakeholders when changes to standard terms requested.
  • Support and/or participate in contract negotiations with suppliers or partners; elevate matters to manager and/or internal stakeholders when necessary.
  • Conduct related research and analysis regarding contracting requests and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee and coordinate internal resources and workflow for the proper review, approval, execution, and recordkeeping of contracts.
  • Collaborate in the development, and manage the administration, of the company's contract management database. Maintain contract records used to ensure compliance with reporting and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the creation, management, maintenance, and audit of comprehensive contracting and risk assessment policies, processes and documentation to ensure compliance with company policy and needs.
  • Work closely with the centralized accounting, retail vendor management, and corporate procurement departments to manage and improve vendor approval and onboarding processes.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel; Adobe Acrobat; and contract management programs.
  • Interest in expanding fundamental knowledge and broadening skills.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Paralegal certification or equivalent education, certifications, or experience is a plus.
  • Ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in contract administration, or other hands-on commercial contracts functions, preferably in a corporate legal department for a company in a consumer-facing industry.
