Schedule:Rotating Shift

Position Summary:

• The Cook is responsible for preparing meals for patients on both regular and modified diets and also food items for the cafeteria and catered events
• Prepares regular and special diet foods according to recipe and specified quantities
• Following standardized recipes, cooks specified foods by weighing, measuring, combining ingredients, slicing, chopping, and cleaning, to obtain desired products
• Objectively evaluate quality (taste and appearance) of items prepared
• Is responsible for maintaining accurate records of all foods prepared and returned
• Cleans equipment, work tables, kettles, pans, refrigerators, stoves, grills, ovens and other items as needed

Shift:

Full-time Rotating Shift (40 hrs)

Shifts ranging from 7:00am - 8:00pm
Every Other Weekend Work Required

Location: Howard County General Hospital,

5755 Cedar Lane, Columbia MD 21044

Education & Experience:

1. High school graduate or high school equivalency diploma required.
2. Culinary training preferred.
3. A minimum of one (1) year experience in hospital or full service restaurant food preparation.

Licenses & Certification:

1. Food Service Sanitation Certificate preferred.
2. Culinary certification preferred
