About this opportunity:

The Cost Analyst s responsible for the proper setup, maintenance, and reporting of maintenance cost information; track and report performance against approved budgets, future commitments, and actual costs; support creation of requisitions in SAP; develop WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) & CBS (Cost Breakdown Structure) strategies; support cost and purchase order commitments planning; develop spend forecasts, forecast variances, and trend analyses; support cost change management; track purchase order status and support financial closeout. The position will require analytical ability/skills to identify deviations or issues, forecast future spending, and report results to key stakeholders. The Cost Analyst will support Track MCI© management and administration including validation of vendor charge codes, actuals versus planned costs for labor, materials, equipment, and mobilization; reconcile vendor invoices to maintenance documents and support financial closeout.
This position is located at the Lima Refinery, Lima, OH.

What you'll do:

  • Attend team, safety, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Provide cost reports, milestone status reports, change management status, and presentation slides as required to meet project and team deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Management (SCM), Maintenance, Operations, Accounting, and various key stakeholders
  • Steward the opex maintenance budget and provide clarity on spend verses work progress. Anticipate/forecast spend verses actual work hours, material, and equipment costs.
  • Assist maintenance planners with capturing total repair costs so the work plans are updated.
  • Implement invoice review process, manage, and update status to stakeholders, and ensure compliance of billing terms and conditions.
  • Champion SAP closeout of work orders, POs and ensure vendors are meeting invoicing requirements.
  • Facilitate monthly accruals to work orders.
  • Track nested contractor overhead costs.
  • Collaborate with SCM in cross a functional capacity to ensure discounts, pricing, and reliability meet expectations and market competition.
  • Collaborate with Site Track Management Team to implement cost coding validation checks, budget status, and coordinate stakeholder status reports to ensure budget control, accurate charge codes, purchase order status, and timely closing of commitments and work orders for completed scopes and purchases.
Who you are:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Business/Finance/Engineering/Construction Management (or similar), or applicable experience in lieu of degree
  • 10 years of experience in cost management, or finance in an owner/operator environment
