Job Summary/Basic Function:
This position is responsible for providing a range of direct professional counseling services, for Boise State University students, faculty, staff and dependents of these groups, within the scope of services offered by Counseling Services. Direct services include treatment for a full range of mental conditions, excluding diagnosis that are deemed severe and persistent and require a higher level of care than Counseling Services is equipped to provide. This position will ensure sufficient clinical oversight of clinical staff and operations for best practices of mental health in a university setting. The clinical coordinator works closely with the Director of Counseling Services in coordinating leadership efforts to help carry out the vision and mission of Counseling Services within the broader Health Services. In coordination with the Director of Counseling Services, this position will manage support of the day-to-day clinical operations of Counseling Services.

Recognized subject matter expert who knows how to apply theory and put it into practice with in-depth understanding of the professional field with limited oversight from managers. Independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function; requires deep job knowledge of areas typically obtained through higher education combined with experience. Manages large projects or processes and problems faced are difficult and often complex; analyzes problems/issues of diverse scope and determines solutions. May manage programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources; functions with a high degree of autonomy.
