Rincon Consultants is seeking a Cultural Resources Projects Manager who will serve as a statewide archaeological Principal Investigator. Under the direction of a Cultural Resources Program Manager, you will be responsible for project management and serving as Principal Investigator (PI) for cultural resources work products and fieldwork, business development, and other client services for cultural resources projects.

What Do You Get To Do In This Position:

  • Developing project proposals
  • Managing projects and budgets
  • Performing and overseeing work products and fieldwork
  • Coordinating with clients, agencies, local Native American groups, Rincon employees, subcontractors and vendors
  • Work in multidisciplinary teams for successful project execution
  • Manage cultural resource studies that identify, evaluate and assess effects/impacts to cultural resources
  • Serve as PI to documents for CEQA and NEPA compliance for various agencies
  • Staff mentorship
  • Business development
  • Quality assurance/quality control of various cultural resource projects
  • As appropriate, writing and reviewing technical reports and proposals
  • Leading project meetings
  • Facilitating successful project completion of multiple projects with varied regulatory requirements including Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)
  • Other duties as required by cultural resources Program Managers and others


This Job Might Be For You If You Have The Following:
  • Meets or exceeds the qualifications detailed in 36 CFR part 61, for Archaeology
  • Minimum of 6 years of cultural resource project management experience in a consulting environment
  • Register of Professional Archaeologists (RPA) certification
  • Expertise in historic and prehistoric archaeology
  • A thorough understanding of CEQA and NEPA as they relate to cultural resources and related fields, and Section 106 of the NHPA
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Strong work ethic, demonstrated leadership ability, good communication skills, and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Prior experience in California

Desired:
  • Experience working directly with utility providers and experience working under the direction of an environmental planner
  • Experience/working relationships with local Native American groups
