Position Summary

The Cybersecurity specialist will be a member of a team including subcontractors in the efforts to re-authorize existing authorization to operate (ATO) packages and create ATO packages for authorizations of new capabilities under the STORM program. Write and review risk management framework (RMF) documentation. Perform Nessus scans of systems. Complete and review Securty Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) checklists. Use security content automation protocol (SCAP) scans to compare security baselines of systems with applicable STIGs. Manage ATO packages within eMASS and Xacta. Provide monthly status reports on accomplishments and challenges. Coordinate with engineering, configuration management and product support teams to ensure RMF requirements are being met and licenses and hardware are kept current at all supported locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Utilize compliance and vulnerability security scan tools (e.g., ACAS, SCC), Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), NIST RMF workflows and processes in order to achieve maximum security compliance for all programs.
  • Develop technical and written solution to cyber security vulnerabilities (e.g., AD Group Policy, Local Security Policy, Windows/UNIX scripts, documented mitigations).
  • Prepare documentation to support installation for quarterly patching, deployment of quarterly patches in accordance with existing configuration management program.
  • Assist in authorization efforts for unclassified and classified networks through the self-assessment phase of RMF by uploading various artifacts into eMASS and Xacta as evidence, associating them with the appropriate controls, and ensuring overall system compliance.
  • Deploy software patches as required using SCCM and VMWare Shavlik Protect. Monitor, track and address Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) applicable to all networks on a monthly basis and create POA&Ms for any vulnerabilities unable to be addressed.
Requirements

Minimum Requirements

The position is contingent upon candidate's ability to meet physical and medical requirements as needed by the position; thereby, including compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local jurisdictional requirements with respect to COVID-19, as well as any Government or customer site-specific requirements. Requirements typically include but are not limited to proof of full COVID-19 vaccination status, except in circumstances where a candidate is legally entitled to an accommodation.

Knowledge and Skills

The required skills and knowledge include:
    • Risk Management Framework
    • IAVM scanning and reporting (Nessus)
    • STIG Implementation
The minimum years of related experience required: Three (3) years

Education

The minimum level of education required is:
    • 2-year degree in IT (Systems, Networking) or Cybersecurity, prefer 4 year degree.

Desired Requirements

The desired skills, knowledge, and education include:
    • Experience as a Information System Security Officer (ISSO)
    • AR25-2
    • Military experience a plus

Other Qualifications

Outside of the above, other certifications, licenses, or clearances include:
    • DoD 8570 IAM Level I: Security+ or higher
    • Active Secret security clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI
    • US Citizens
