The company is headquartered in Reston, VA.We are looking for an experienced Controller Training Solutions (CTS) Instructorto join the SAIC TEAM providing air traffic controller training services forthe Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA).
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is responsiblefor ensuring that air traffic control specialists provide the flying publicwith a high level of safety and professionalism. A well-trained Air TrafficControl (ATC) workforce plays an essential role in fulfilling thisresponsibility. The FAA employs more than 14,000 air traffic controllers. Theywork in air traffic facilities of varying sizes, safely separating more than50,000 aircraft in the National Airspace System (NAS) each day.
Qualifications
The CTS Instructor is a hands-on position that requires thecandidate to effectively and consistently deliver the highest quality classroomand simulation laboratory training to a wide variety of students includingdevelopmental air traffic controllers and certified professional controllers(CPC). The successful candidate for this position must have experiencedemonstrating excellent teaching and/or platform skills, classroom managementtechniques, and a student-focused drive for continuous improvement.
The CTS Instructor candidate must have a minimum of five(5) years recent Certified Professional Controller experience controlling livetraffic, or recent experience instructing FAA personnel. The recent experiencemust have been performed at a similar type and level of ATC facility as the DetroitTRACON Facility. The successful candidate for this position must demonstrate strongtechnical skills with current ATC automation, simulation systems andprocedures. This position will provide mentoring for students and Remote PilotOperators (RPO) as well as participate in curriculum design and development. Theselected candidate must demonstrate the knowledge and skills applicable forobtaining radar and/or non-radar simulation laboratory certifications at FAAair traffic control facilities within the U.S. National Airspace System.
US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain andmaintain a Public Trust clearance
Certified Professional Controller (CPC) certificationrequired.
