Responsible for business analysis using data science and business intelligence techniques. Create outstanding visualization within visualization tools, in addition to, automating reporting and conducting ad hoc analysis. The person in this role will be responsible for developmenting, leveraging and implement out-of-box models of build advanced statistical, descriptive, and predictive models (machine learning, supervised, unsupervised, classification, regression, and time series) for business and marketing related problems. This position analyzes, proposes, and generates predictive and descriptive insights to create business and marketing opportunities. This role entails a deep knowledge and business acumen in the financial industry.

This role creates and deploys target customer data for CRM campaigns, segmentation, acquisition, market research, and voice of customer. The Data & Analytics person must also generate a comprehensive customer view serving to identify business opportunities and providing the tools to support sales objectives. In addition, partment with marketing, business, and treasury to work pricing strategy and forecasting.

This person will need to display and implement proper methodology for analysis and model cycles ensuring timely tracking, documentation, reproducibility, scalability, and insights that are actionable and used to improve future business initiatives, challenges and efforts.

This role will also need to ensure banking knowledge is constantly improving to contextualize efforts and continuously provide additional value to the business lines that are supported.


Analytics and Predictive Modeling

  • Build complex statistical, descriptive, and predictive models using out-of-the-box platforms (such as Salesforce CRM Analytics) data mining, machine learning and statistical methodologies, looking to understand patterns, effectiveness of marketing campaigns, channel use behavior, customer profiles, customer attrition, among others business challenges, with the purpose of optimizing customer acquisition, retention, and activation as well as cross selling opportunities.
  • Build visual components to place through Salesforce and nCino pages using CRM Analytics
  • Assist in data integration and collection processes to gather, interpret, and make information actionable within Salesforce for all business lines
  • Develop models to assess the relative value of clients and business opportunities in order to facilitate prioritization in customer retention and development efforts.
  • Conduct business and marketing analysis through data mining by using statistical techniques and machine learning facilitating the discovery of complex relationships and providing reliable forecast for information required by the lines of business.
  • Conduct Business and Marketing session to understand needs and challenges analyzed, develop, proposed, and launch actionable solutions.
  • Prepare customer target lists for CRM campaigns and on leveraging CRM Analytics tool.
  • Build experimental design and implementation of A/B and multivariate testing to improve funnel performance (from awareness to purchase McKinsey Customer Journey) and channel efficiency to improve marketing and business decisions.
  • Build analytical solutions under the focus of Big Data (structured, semi structured, and unstructured data) to enhance performance of business decisions and supporting the profitability of marketing activities.
  • Stay abreast of emerging machine learning and data science technologies.
  • Develop visualizations to effectively communicate analytical insights and models to broad audiences utilizing tools such as (MS Power BI, R Markdown, Jupyter Notebooks, Python, CRM Analytics).
  • Writing reusable SQL, R and Python code and building R Markdown/Jupyter Notebooks reports
Business Intelligence and Knowledge Management
  • Extract and analyze data and information from multiple platforms and databases, including external sources, in order to define business rules for the transformation of data into information and knowledge.
  • Identify and uncover business opportunities from data mining and analytical studies and tasks.
  • Identify and capture customer information to be included in BIA’s Knowledge Management platform, in order to provide easy access to data needed for different types of analysis.
  • In coordination with team members, design and implement tools for Decision Support, Knowledge Management and distribution of relevant information.
  • Support the automation of the information requirements from the lines of business.
  • Responsible for supporting ad-hoc and special project requirements of the area’s Manager.
  • This person is not directly responsible for creating business reports (dashboards); but needs to drive the creation of reports and dashboards by working with the appropriate team. There is a BI team, but this person may need to build their own reports at times
  • Collaborate with the Model Risk Management (MRM) Unit with the validation of the models, providing the required documentation, executing back-testing, on-going model monitoring
  • Write formal model development documentation according with the MRM guidelines
  • Participate in all data governance and data integrity initiatives
  • Collaborates with the data management unit to ensure that the information used follows the compliance, access management, and control policies and that it meets the qualification and assurance requirements of the organization
  • Partners with the data stewards to define the data quality expectation in the context of the specific use case
  • Collaborate with other data science teams within the organization.
  • Ensure preventive measures are carried out to fully comply with current rules, regulations and internal policies relating to risks pertaining to BSA, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and other AML related issues.
  • Perform special projects as assigned
Minimum Education and/or Certifications Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar.
  • Master’s degree in Statistics/Analytics/Data Science or similar
  • DataCamp, EDx, Coursera or similar institution certifications in Open-Source Coding (or able to demonstrate coding ability)
  • CRM Analytics experience highly preferred
  • SAS Accreditation a plus
Minimum Work Experience Requirements:
  • At least 4 to 5 years of experience in developing Statistical Models, Data Mining CRM Analytics, Business Intelligence, Knowledge Management, Data Warehousing.
  • +4 years of experience in complex projects. Experience in the financial industry, service industry or mass market (CPG) preferred.

  • Web tools: GMP (Google Analytics, AdWords, Data Studio, Big Query)

  • Banking Core System Structure
  • Analytics Unstructured Data: non-SQL – Mongo, Hadoop, Cassandra, Java, Hive
  • Project management, organizational: MS Project, MS Visio, SharePoint and Teamwork, Jira, or similar
  • SAS
  • Desirable:
  • Experience with analytic techniques, statistical modeling, and web analytics technologies such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics a plus
