The Ads Infrastructure team builds and operates the large-scale monetization infrastructure for our Ads business and is central to our ads business work, our ads revenue and for the billions of people on Meta each month. The Ads Data Infrastructure services process and store extremely large volumes of data from user interactions. This data is used for training ML and for measuring and improving the performance of the system.We are looking for a Data Science Manager to lead analytics to improve efficiency and reliability of the Ads Data Infrastructure services, develop new capabilities, identify opportunities of new areas of investments and adopt the Ads data systems to meet privacy and signal loss requirements.In this role, you will be working at the forefront of the industry, leading analytics for these large-scale systems and helping drive data-informed decisions for the Ads Data Infrastructure team.

Data Science Manager, Ads Infrastructure Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Engineering, and cross-functional teams to inform, influence, support, and execute vision, strategy and investment decisions for the Ads Data systems.
  • Inspire, lead and grow a team of data scientists and manager(s) to fulfill our longer term vision.
  • Actively influences the design of the strategy and shaping of the roadmap within this scope. Generate and use team insights to set and prioritize longer term goals.
  • Develop understanding of complex distributed systems and sub-components, as well as broader industry challenges, to identify present and future risks and opportunities.
  • Leverage data to prioritize areas of investment, anticipate platform needs, and assess novel solutions.
  • Grow analytics expertise around you, upskilling your team, engineers, and others, to increase overall team impact.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, operations research, econometrics, computer science, engineering), or BS/MS in a quantitative discipline with equivalent working experience
  • 4+ years of experience in team leadership/people management through layers
  • Experience in cross-functional partnership among teams of Engineering, Design, PM, Data Engineering
  • Track-record driving product roadmap and execution


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ads Systems experience
  • Large-scale ML system experience such as Ads Ranking, Search, Recommendation Systems
