The Demand Planning Manager is responsible for creating their own demand plans by partnering with the commercial team, product engine team, and finance partners to develop accurate sales and pipeline forecast for their country market and/or product. This position can either be an individual contributor position, managing a larger product revenue market, or a manager position that will lead a team of demand planners in order to optimize end to end demand planning process and tools and is responsible for recruiting, retaining, and developing all planners within their market.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Analyze historic and current demand trends, and generate and evaluate the market baselines · Execute and strategically create the future fulfillment plans.
  • Enable ZB to achieve high quality demand plans by increasing forecast accuracy for specific products within their specific countries · Serve as the subject matter expert for all the demand plans of designated country.
  • Work with COE and IT to ensure and verify data quality.
  • Develop alignment cadence with New Product Introduction demand planning teams to ensure correct transition in demand plans
  • Prepare monthly management reports identifying any relevant problems and recommending solutions that will improve future demand plans.
  • Confirm that business assumptions used to generate demand plans are reviewed, updated, and documented.
  • Cleanse the demand history from one-off effects (HIE and others) and other effects that have the potential to reduce the data quality for later statistical projection steps.
  • Plan for and participate in demand review meetings · Drive alignment discussions for implant and instrument set utilization demand plans to ensure alignment with sales plans, utilization goals, CapEx and U.S. Field Inventory goals and E&O initiatives
  • Interact with all organizations of the company including marketing, sales, finance, manufacturing, and asset management to ensure smooth demand planning process.



People Management (if applicable)

  • Lead and manage a team of demand planners in order to continuously improve the quality of the demand process.
  • Provide employees with a work environment that is open and conducive to high performance, personal development and career growth and in line with the cultural attributes of ZB (Zimmer Biomet).
  • Maintain strong relationship with staff, provides on the job coaching and development advice, and encourages conversations and ideas.
  • Lead team resources and budgets, and provides vision for the development of compelling long term value propositions.
  • Propose trainings and career development plans for Demand Planners Develop and reinforce productivity metrics that pertain to the demand planning process, such as bias and forecast accuracy.
Expected Areas of Competence
  • Experience with forecasting software (preferred), Microsoft Excel and all other Microsoft office products .
  • Ability to use statistics and mathematics to create accurate demand plans .
  • Ability to quickly and accurately generate action requirements based on Planning system outputs.
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills General management experience including staffing, organizing, motivating and communicating.
Education/Experience Requirements
  • BS or BA in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Finance or other related field
  • Min 6-8 years' experience working in demand planning/forecasting or Sales projections.
  • Supply Chain experience with good understanding of processes in sales, marketing, and finance Experience with SAP, IBP, APO, ERP, Tableau, and SQL is a plus.
