HYG is looking for an energetic Development Quality Engineer I who will have a positive influence on the New Product Introduction processes. As a Development Quality Engineer I, you will primarily be responsible to support the global HYG Design Centers in validating the designed solutions regarding functionality, reliability, and compliance with HYG requirements. In addition, you will be called upon to support other HYG activities (e.g. Product Transfers, Design Upgrades, etc.) where the Customer Performance of the product could be affected.
The major objective associated with the position is to both identify the need and pull together the appropriate resources necessary to investigate, identify and recommend design changes on all HYG products required as result of product testing to ensure reliability and durability of the product.
The successful Development Engineer will have the following Key Accountabilities:
Determine Reliability Activities required to support Design Changes
Ensure global historical Warranty Performance data is used as a baseline for HYG units being considered for design / re-design. Use HYG Reliability Software to review impact of proposed Design Changes and confirm requirements of the Reliability Growth Program Plan
Monitor Reliability Growth performance and identify any risks to the program
Ensure the reliability and durability of all HYG products under Reliability Test. Audit all HYG test programs, capture accurate test data and ensure timely reporting of Reliability Performance to target.
Champion Quality Attribute Team Involvement in the HYG New Model Design & Development Process and Production Preparation Process
Ensure that each Quality Function is following a common and disciplined approach for new model parts via: a) Plant Quality product approval, and b) supplier process readiness for new model introduction
Warranty Performance
Confirm that proposed Validation Activities on Design Changes support a Field Warranty performance in line with HYG Targets for individual Product lines.
The successful Development Quality Engineer will have the following Minimum Qualifications:
• Technical Education (BS degree) and Significant Product and Component experience (2-5 years) required.
• Broad Technical understanding of either major lift truck systems and components or similar complex part assemblies from another manufacturing industry.
• Extensive experience in problem solving activity with New Product Development.
• Maturity and Professionalism to effectively interface with HYG Management in order to improve performance.
• Basic management and HR Skills that can be further developed in anticipation of future organization advancement.
• Broad oral, visual and written communication, presentation and motivation skills required.
• PC Application skills required.
