Truck preventive maintenance technician will work cross-functionally across multiple areas of the garage, responsibilities include, but are not limited to performing routine preventive maintenance repairs on trucks, APUs and performing emergency mechanical or electrical failures. Ability to diagnose and repair our truck engine and systems with our diagnostic programs. Abilities to perform minor structural welding and cutting task.
Ability to safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned equipment and the ability to effectively communicate with all transportation personnel including managers, drivers, and clerks.

Personal Protection Equipment will be provided. Safety toed footwear is required.

Mechanic will need to provide their own tools for diagnosing and repair Tyson fleet diesel trucks. Mechanics must be willing to complete all fleet maintenance processes and ensure that units always meet Tyson Foods specifications.

Tyson Mechanic will be given the opportunity to advance their skills and wages though a training/teaching program.

Work Experience: Previous diesel trucks mechanic experience preferred. 1 to 3 years (experience) or graduation from technical institute or shown proficiency within internal progression.

Team Member will be given 6 months from hire to complete the below qualifications.

ME02 Qualifications:
• Be proficient on standard preventive maintenance PM 1 & PM 2 (ie. chassis lube/inspection; grease all fittings/chassis and replace fuel filters; fluid level and belt check and air filter inspection; brake, wheel end, and tire inspection to meet DOT criteria; oil and filter changes)
• Brake Inspector Certified (foundation brakes)
• Wheel End Certified
• Basic Electrical
• Identify engine fault codes (utilizing laptop)

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills will be necessary to document information, process daily work orders, and complete required documentation.

Required: Truck tech may be required to perform service calls on equipment at remote locations, a current valid driver's license is required.
