Role Description

Position Summary

Zoetis Tech & Digital (ZTD) is looking for a Digital Product engineer to contribute mission-critical application software for in-clinic veterinary diagnostics. Working in a fast-paced, Agile environment and using cutting edge technology, this person will play a key role on a software development team responsible for implementing Zoetis' next-generation veterinary diagnostic product suite.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design, development and deployment of application software for diagnostic analyzer instruments and supporting ecosystem.
• Collaborate with other members of the development team to ensure consistency with design principles, development practices, team processes and procedures.
• Assist with software requirements elicitation and systems analysis.
• Assist with system integration, build and release activities.

Organizational Relationships

Interact extensively with counterparts on cross-functional project teams, including Product Management, Information Services and Veterinary Medicine Research & Development (VMRD) to achieve alignment on the diagnostic software development and release strategy as well as ensure the delivered products will meet customer needs and drive value for Zoetis.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
• Experience with both Agile and traditional software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Experience working as part of a geographically distributed team

Technical Skills Requirements

Required

• Excellent command of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and practices
• Excellent command of functional programming principles and practices
• Experience with multi-tier and distributed (microservice) architectures
• Proficiency with Java 11+
• Proficiency with Spring, Spring Boot 2.x
• Proficiency with front-end development (preferably using React and TypeScript)
• Experience writing unit and integration tests
• Experience working in Linux

Preferred

• Experience with Python 3.x
• Understanding of behavior-driven testing (BDT), behavior-driven development (BDD)
• Experience implementing PAAS solutions in Azure, GCP or AWS (Azure preferred)
• Knowledge of, or interest in, DevOps, continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD)

Experience with API design techniques and tooling e.g. REST and Swagger
