Job Description Summary:
The PayPal HR Operations team is seeking an experienced, highly engaged and dynamic leader to serve as the functional product owner for our Workday system. This role will focus on evolving and scaling our Workday architecture and strategy in close partnership with our HR PMO, IT partners, Payroll and HR functional area leads (recruiting, talent development, compensation and benefits, position management, etc.). This role will also lead the team responsible for operationalizing compensation and benefits policies and programs.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering best-in-class optimized HR services to the enterprise and hyper-focused on flawless 'go-to-market' execution. Success in this position will require the development of an extensive internal network, both within and beyond the HR function and an ability to work well with and through others to effectively execute. The successful candidate will navigate easily between both strategic and hands-on items on the to-do list, serving not only as a thought partner to the HR leadership but also as the driver of critical business initiatives.

Job Description:

Responsibilities will include:

Workday Product Owner:
  • Work with internal HR teams and delivery partners to build a strategy and governance model for our Workday system, aligned with HR priorities and portfolio roadmap.
  • Serve a critical role as the connective tissue between various parts of the HR organization and key partners (e.g. IT, HR PMO) to maximize potential impact of initiatives/deliverables.
  • Evaluate specific areas of Workday and other HR systems to determine how current utilization can be transformed to better leverage capabilities, streamline processes, enhance reporting, ensure compliance, etc. Areas of focus include position/workforce management, recruiting, talent development, compensation and benefits, role/access definitions, etc.
  • Partner closely with HR PMO, HR Change Management, and HR Risk Management teams to ensure large scale changes are appropriately executed.
  • Monitor the execution of Workday initiatives to ensure we are achieving business objectives, KPIs and deliverables, stepping in as needed to re-align and drive improvements.

Compensation and Benefits Operations:
  • Operationalization of compensation, benefits, time tracking, time off and leave programs and strategies
  • Responsible for the oversight and delivery of the systems and foundation necessary to support the Rewards lifecycle, e.g.:
    • Annual Incentive Plan management including budgeting & accruals, eligibility and data audits, Workday execution & enhancements, training and comms, AIP grants and adjustments, SOX audits, reporting & analytics
    • Rewards Cycles management including business requirements, system testing, award letters, annual cycle, coordination with Recruiting and Tier 1 HR support
    • AIP administration & execution including system automation and delivery, payroll liaison, term process & payout, AIP shares execution, liaison w/ Finance
    • Reward systems management including Workday, MarketPay, CompView, Tier 2 HR support

Job Requirements:
  • Experience with Workday and HR systems required. Extensive knowledge of, and experience with, Workday functional configuration/modules. Workday certification a plus.
  • Experience supporting HR lines of business such as compensation, rewards, recruiting, talent development.
  • Solid understanding of compensation and benefits operations. Strong working knowledge of, and hands-on practical experience with, technology tools and applications typically used in the space (payroll, leave management, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and execution skills, coupled with an ownership mentality to ensure tasks are seen through to completion.
  • Experience developing strategic or departmental planning materials that require consensus gathering from multiple constituents, coupled with the ability to translate the strategy into effective execution and tangible outcomes
  • Highly skilled at simplifying and operationalizing processes and systems to drive efficient delivery of services at scale. Eager to learn new things and apply knowledge to innovate, improve/simplify processes.
  • Thrive in a global, fast-paced, and dynamic work environment. Ability to manage highjobcomplexity and constant multi-tasking with exceptional attention to detail. Well organized, able to prioritize well, work efficiently. Shows flexibility as workloads fluctuate.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and work effectively with global teams at all levels (including senior leadership) within a highly matrixed organization.
  • A genuine interest and ability to connect with, build and maintain relationships with people at all levels and across organizational and geographic boundaries.
  • A proven leader in building high-performing teams and mentoring/developing talent.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) with a focus in Business or Technology preferred
