ABOUT THE JOB

The Geller House is a short-term residential center that provides rapid intervention, assessments, treatment services, education, social and recreational activities for at-risk adolescents ages 11-16 years old who are struggling with family related issues, including; long-term abuse, neglect, substance abuse and mental illness.

The Direct Support Professionals at Geller House work directly with adolescents in residence, assisting them to meet their treatment plans, and ensuring that their independent living skills are implemented daily. Acting as a positive role model and providing therapeutic parenting, the direct support professional is charged with the fundamental responsibility of the client's health and safety. This is direct support role in Staten Island.


TO QUALIFY

The Jewish Board is currently looking for talented professionals of all cultures, religions, races, and gender expressions with the following qualifications:

  • A High School diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • A current, valid clean Driver's license is required for this position and throughout all DSP positions
  • Prior experience in a residential setting, with a similar population
