Directs the day-to-day operations of the Emergency Department and provides consultation and assistance in communication with the entire range of the served patient population. Responsibilities include effective resource utilization, program and policy development, implementation and evaluation. As a member of the Emergency Department leadership team, the individual demonstrates clinical expertise and will be involved in continuous quality improvement, customer service, resource and financial management, efficient and effective system processes and professional development.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from accredited nursing program, Master's degree in related field within 4 years of hire.
Experience: Five years of progressive leadership experience demonstrating sustainable clinical operational outcomes required.
Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required within 60 days of hire.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
