Meta is seeking Director of Hardware Technology Pathfinding to join the AI Systems and Accelerated Platforms (ASAP), Ecosystems and Technical Operations team. This role will be responsible for identifying technology trends, opportunities, and driving the Meta Infrastructure strategy and engagements with companies, partners, consortiums, industry bodies, hyperscalers and academia along with cross-functional teams.The ideal candidate will have a strong HW engineering background with a proven track record of influencing HW technology adoption in areas such as interconnect, advanced packaging, foundry, manufacturing process, IP, components, etc. They will work to align technology partners and their R&D focus towards solutions that address Meta's medium and long term needs. They will be responsible for aligning the technology within Meta into a clear strategy to be pursued with technology partners. Prior experience driving a HW technology agenda, stakeholder alignment and quickly building relationships with cross-functional partners and teammates will be critical to success.

Director, Hardware Technology Pathfinding Responsibilities:

• Drive the infrastructure ecosystem to adopt technology solutions necessary for Meta's future infrastructure
• Drive Foundry and Advanced packaging vendors (OSATs) along with ASIC vendors to create Infra ASIC product differentiation for Meta's compute and AI products
• Drive chiplet based advanced packaging architecture with ASICs and IP vendors
• Leverage external learnings to influence product and system architecture within Meta infrastructure
• Drive Meta participation in consortiums, industry bodies and university collaborations. Coordinate Meta objectives, agenda and participation in areas including but not limited to OCP, ODSA, UCIE, IEEE/Standard bodies, Linux Foundation, OIF, JEDEC, Open Infra, GSA & Ultra Ethernet
• Explore technology partnerships with fellow traveler hyperscalers and new engagement models (joint RFIs). Align on common features, timing, adoption of key technologies such as CXL expanders, tooling, accelerators, liquid cooling, etc.
• Drive suppliers, consortia and ecosystem to meet hyperscalar common direction
• Analyze Meta Infrastructure's Ecosystem dynamics and develop recommendations to leadership
• Assess external partnership opportunities and potential areas, identify and develop partner relationships
• Evaluate new strategic business opportunities, initiatives, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures
• Foster relationships and work with cross-functional partners to understand their needs and ideas on how to solve business problems
• This position may require up to 15% of travel
• Lead/Manage, mentor, inspire and scale our technology pathfinding team in AI Systems and Accelerated Platforms (ASAP) organization

Minimum Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in engineering or technology
• Experience managing multiple simultaneous high-priority projects in an ambiguous environment
• Experience in technology pathfinding for data center infrastructure products
• 15+ years of experience with leadership influence, strategy and cross-functional collaboration
• 5+ years of experience in business strategy, data analysis, analytical and problem-solving
• Experience leading and influencing stakeholders at all levels of an organization

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with Infrastructure hardware and have established relationship with the ecosystem partners and consortiums
• Excellent communication, negotiation skills and experience synthesizing complexity
• Graduate degree in an technical field
• Experience working with or as part of a technology strategy and insights team
