Job Summary

Manage computer systems and software used for Administrative services such as Finance, Payroll, Human Resources, Business Office and Student services such as student records & registration, admissions and advising at Roane State. This would include both on site servers and software and servers, software, in addition to applications and services hosted by external sources.

Job Duties - * Manage computer systems and software used for Administrative services such as Finance, Payroll, Human Resources, Business Office and Student services such as student records & registration, admissions and advising at Roane State. This would include both on site servers and software and servers, software, in addition to applications and services hosted by external sources. * System administration of related department systems including computer application and database support. * Ensure adequate documentation is available for all supervised systems. * Primary liaison for Roane State and TBR support for ERP systems. * Consults with software and hardware vendors and other establishment workers to solve problems impeding computer processing. * Administrative Systems Account Securities including ERP and other third-party systems. * Meets with users of various college departments to determine quality of service and identify needs, and for onboarding of new proposed projects. * Evaluates proposed IT projects to assess feasibility, compatibility and/or adequacy of existing hardware/software. * Develops budget and monitors expenditures. * Plans and develops department policies and procedures. * Adjusts hours of work, priorities, and staff assignments to ensure efficient operation, based on work load. * Develops and communicates standards for the proper conduct of staff and completion of work orders assigned to staff. * Responsible for approving timesheets, leave requests as they relate to supervised staff. * Performs and completes annual performance reviews of supervised staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field required with a minimum of 3 years related experience preferred.
Three (3) or more years experience and knowledge of Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems.
Three (3) or more years experience with Oracle SQL (or equivalent SQL).
Basic knowledge of network protocols and network fundamentals.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in higher education setting.
Supervisory experience.
Three (3) or more years experience with various programming languages (C, PL/SQL, Java, etc.).

Strong written and oral communication skills.
