Are you an experienced and passionate bridge design engineer ready to take the next step in your career? Look no further! GPI seeks a dynamic individual to serve as our Director of Structures for our Scott Depot and Morgantown, WV offices.

We seek individuals ready to work collectively with a multi-discipline team of engineers in a dynamic office environment on interesting and challenging projects. Our West Virginia office projects involve roadway, bridge, and traffic design projects. GPI understands our significant responsibility as engineers to provide safe, unique, and context-sensitive transportation solutions to our many communities and clients. Responsibilities:

• You will lead our expanding bridge design team located across West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky
• Build effective client relationships by working collaboratively with the client & multi-discipline teams
• Prepare and complete engineering designs that are responsive to project needs
• Complete tasks within the assigned schedule and budget
• Develop project design criteria, calculations, details, and estimates
• Mentor staff in the advancement of bridge design

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• 10-15 years of experience in bridge design.
• Experience and familiarity with the West Virginia Division of Highways Structural Directives is a plus.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design using MicroStation and ORD.
• Strong technical background with expertise in superstructure and substructure design, cost estimation, and specification preparation.
• Proven experience managing staff and coordinating with clients.
• PE in West Virginia is required; Ohio and Kentucky are a plus.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
• Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
• Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
• Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
