The Director of Equities serves as a strategic partner in the Investment Management Department. The primary responsibility of the role is to manage Yellow Cardinal's Quality Core Equity portfolio.

Additionally, this position strives to broaden and deepen the exposure and business opportunities for the firm's equity products across all distribution channels. The Director of Equities demonstrates a deep understanding of FFB's equity investment capabilities and overall investment environments.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of managing the Quality Core Equity portfolio, including sector analysis, security fulfillment, and portfolio construction work.
  • Must be conversant on all covered companies and be able to construct various analyses / presentations on position names, sectors, and industry sub-groups. Utilizes third party research to construct in-depth fundamental analysis on covered equity names. Responds timely to breaking news / developments pertaining to covered companies.
  • Assists Investment Committee with identifying and monitoring the driving factors of equity markets. Collaborates with Investment Committee members to determine active equity allocations within FFB Portfolio Strategies.
  • Partners with sales and service teams to communicate buy / sell decisions regarding specific companies within FFB's equity portfolio. Supports the sales process with associates of Yellow Cardinal and the Bank by participating in meetings with high net worth clients and discussing investment options which deliver solutions to meet the clients' needs.
  • Works in conjunction with other associates within Yellow Cardinal and other areas of the Bank in the development of long-term client relationships. Instills trust and confidence with clients by sharing knowledge of portfolio management, investment options and performance. Distinguishes First Financial Bank as a premier relationship organization which delivers Wealth Management solutions with personal attention and care.
  • Operates within all internal and external Risk and Regulatory guidelines and policies. Manages risk to support the Bank's reputation; evaluates product suitability and investment performance within defined risk profiles. Participates in Risk Management meetings to monitor risk related activities related to the Wealth Management function.
  • Provides oversight to the Investment Research function; maintains confidentiality and demonstrates ethical business practices.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to Perform Essential Functions of the Job
  • 10 years of relevant experience including equity analysis and institutional client experience
  • Extensive work experience in providing fundamental analysis for specific companies
  • Working knowledge of the following: investment and portfolio management theory; accounting and financial principles; and investment strategies and instruments.
  • Experience in banking or financial services is preferred.
  • BA/BS in Business or other related field of study; Master's degree is preferred.
  • CFA designation is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Factset or other portfolio management / trading platforms
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development; knowledge of current business issues, trends and best practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
