Our Director will be accountable for the North American (and Asia Pacific) supply planning execution and staff management. As our key Director, you will own global planning of inventory, timely delivery of inventory, and vendor management for the U.S, Canada, Asia Pacific, and Latin America RMOs.

What you will be doing:

  • Manage North American supply planning staff and the categories they serve including humidifiers, air purifiers, thermometers, fans, heaters, PUR water filtration, blood pressure monitors, and related accessories and SKUs.
  • Charged with developing the team to implement at a higher level to bring OTD and inventory goals together in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Manage global inventory planning (dotted line to the EU planning team and other RMOs) and owns development of the plans and related results. Goal to manage turns up and overall dollars down to corporate objectives.
  • Manage the inventory flow via Oracle firming/direct PO placement that improves vendor capability, on time delivery, and MOH and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide twelve month rolling inventory projections each month that align to the demand and financial plans that is reviewed and aligned with business unit and corporate leadership.
  • Supervise and maintain item planning parameters, time fences, MOQ, lead times, etc. to support handling targeted service levels, inventory turn goals, and support the demand plan.
  • Lead vendor capacity needs in conjunction with other RMOs, BUs, and APO team where needed to improve Helen of Troy's delivery needs.
  • Perform analysis of capacity and recommend changes at the vendor level such as additions to tooling, staffing, equipment, process to improve OTD, and lead all aspects of seasonal build needs.
  • Report critical metrics as needed for the department on OTD, inventory, and cost management.
  • Approve purchase orders/firming orders to global vendors (spend app $500MM).
  • Serve as subject matter expert with Oracle ERP (or SAP) and BI tools to provide training for direct reports.
  • Provide regular high-level (executive team) updates on business status.
  • Provide data on purchasing, inventory, and OTD that drives business decisions and optimizes each of these areas.
  • Directly and creatively lead exciting delivery situations at global vendors that still result in OTD.


Skills needed to be successful in this role:
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and improve organization functional skill through training and/or upgrades where vital.
  • Excellent analytical skills especially applying business intelligence tools to perform global inventory projections and analyze segments of inventory data, for Weeks of Supply, Turns and excess and obsolete inventory planning.
  • Outstanding staff management and development skills and the ability to work in matrixed larger GSC organization to drive Health & Home as well as Helen of Troy results and forward plans both organizationally and at the vendor level.
  • Ability to collaborate and work well with all levels within the business.
  • Ability to build consensus and confidence via good planning and execution of said plans.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, able to make risky decisions, and act in an expediting mode constantly to support our customers.
  • Must have a keen sense of urgency and be a technically oriented leader while using systems to drive the organization to key decision points with excellent fact-based data.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in related profession/field
  • 7-15 years of related experience
  • ERP Skills with GSC Software: Oracle R12 or SAP
  • Expert knowledge of Blue Yonder
  • Skilled with Business Intelligence Tools: Oracle BI
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have experience with a global vendor base in China and Mexico


Preferred Qualifications:
  • APICS Certification
  • CPM Certification
