WhatsApp is looking for an experienced and accomplished Marketer to lead our efforts in building the Brand with our large global user base through In Product communication and content. The Head of In App Content will lead the charge in thinking about how we communicate with our users through our product and bring to life our brand within the App - through strategic and innovative thinking, taking an editorial approach that is both data driven and influenced by their keen sense of what delights WhatsApp users across the world. They will need to demonstrate repeated prior success designing and executing powerful editorially driven content that drives delight for users - ideally within a digital product. Furthermore, they must demonstrate having done so in close collaboration with cross-functional teams in Product, Creative, Data Science, Insights, Communications, Product Growth, Policy, and Business.
To be successful in this role, this leader will need to be a visionary who is part editor and part strategist with the ability to develop a comprehensive and iterative content strategy, advocate for and activate the strategy and get the best out of our creative partners to deliver unique experiences for users. This leader will own the (i) the marketing/editorial plan in the product i.e., what we plan to communicate and when we will do so; (ii) the development of creative through specific in-product communications channels; and (iii) the evolution of our position and tone as we engage users. This leader will have the unique and exciting challenge of solving for how a brand that connects billions of people can now communicate as a personal brand with its users.
