Job Description:

Reporting to the Associate Provost for the Office of Teaching and Technology, the Operations Director is responsible for the operational direction of UF artificial intelligence-non degree initiative and overall operations and administration and management of Flexible Learning, UF Dual Enrollment programs, Self-supporting degree qualifying program support and Distance Education Service Center. Duties and responsibilities include formulating policies, management of daily operations. Analyzes the effectiveness of and establishes future direction for functional policies and programs. Supporting the mission of the university with labor market research, workforce analysis, and consultation in collaboration with university stakeholders, including business and finance analytics and data collection to support new program development and strategic decision-making supporting the student recruitment and retention for programs contracted with DESC. Compliance support for relevant state and federal reporting requirements.

Director Duties - At the direction of the Associate Provost of the Office of Teaching and Technology perform project-based work aligned with Teaching and Technology's mission and the University's vision for the including but not limited to oversight for the University's massive open online courses (MOOCs) partnership, initiatives related to supporting the University's online academic, and partnerships across UF for labor market data use and analysis. Build and maintain relationships with partnering colleges, faculty members, department chairs, and associate deans to develop growth opportunities for relevant programs supporting the mission of the university.

Lead for Artificial Intelligence-non degree courses/programs - Responsible for identifying and developing the demand for the content of the Artificial Intelligence initiative. The “outward facing” responsibility is to be consistent with the University's emergence as “the AI University” capable of meeting the need for AI knowledge as well as an emerging research tool. This position in its “outward facing” focus will provide broad operational support for AI dissemination, including labor market research, workforce analysis, and consultation with University stakeholders.

Distance Self-Funded Program Support - Supports associate director's managing proposal development process, maintaining communication with University partners ensuring prospective Self-Supporting graduate level program proposals are compliant with current relevant Self-Supporting state and university regulations, includes but not limited to market research, utilizing academic and labor market data sources such as Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) and the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Responsible for supporting the management of data and documentation for Self-Supporting programs. Updates Self-Supporting program and course information in the shared drive and the Distance Learning website, as well as maintaining the Self-Supporting Program Performance Report and other data projects as needed.

Flexible Learning/High School Dual Enrollment support - Manage the Associate Director and staff for both the UF Flexible Learning and UF Dual Enrollment programs and participates in the strategic planning for both programs including departmental operating budgets. Establishes policies and procedures for and oversees acceptance, enrollment, and recruiting of dual enrollment and Flexible Learning students establishing performance goals and measures to support program growth and directs departmental staff activities to serve the strategic mission of the HSDE/FLEX, DESC and Program Support initiatives providing advanced student support, handling elevated faculty concerns.

Dual Enrollment - Manages relationships with school district contacts and oversees recruitment and onboarding of new districts. Develops processes to ensure on time invoicing and enrollment reporting for participating school districts. Manages the creation of print and digital marketing and recruitment materials and supports Dual Enrollment staff with student recruiting, as needed. Responsible for ensuring program meets all State (FLDOE) and Federal guidelines and for all aspects of articulation agreement processing.
Flexible Learning - Develops procedures for and hires new Flexible Learning instructors. Oversees creation of all marketing plans, including print and digital materials. Oversees and assist with all fiscal responsibilities of program as well as AAR reporting.

DESC - Supports associate director's leadership of the Distance Education Service Center (DESC), a concierge marketing, recruitment, and retention center supporting UF Self funded programs. The position is responsible for strategic vision, goal setting, and budgetary and personnel management of the unit.

Point of contact for compliance and reporting state authorizations, both state and national; responsible for submitting enrollments engaged in distance education by state, territory or district in which students are located.

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and eight years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
University-level online academic instructional experience.
Academic program launch and management, designing, implementing, and assessing lead-generation marketing campaigns, designing and monitoring self-funded program budgets.
Non-credit and dual credit program administration and/or instruction.
Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively across divisions and in a culturally diverse environment.
Salesforce and Tableau experience preferred.
