JOB SUMMARY: The MGB Radiology Quality Assurance Director, reporting to the MGB Radiology Executive Director, oversees and facilitates the MGB Radiology quality assurance program across the MGB enterprise for all imaging modalities. Managing the modality specific QA managers to assess, plan, implement and monitor all imaging quality to ensure consistent, harmonized, high quality imaging is delivered appropriately to the right patient, at the right time and accordingly to their individual needs, across every modality at every MGB imaging location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Operations Management: Partnering with local leaders and subject matter experts (SMEs), responsible to develop/create/implement/sustain standardized administrative practices for all role groups, within each area of oversite, and implementation across the enterprise; responsible for creating centralized enterprise solutions (including but not limited too centralized image service center, centralized reading room support center, etc.) to reduce duplication and expense, increase efficiency and support in areas of oversight for the full enterprise; Attends meetings on behalf of Executive Director, department administrators &/or clinical directors, as needed; performs other duties and special projects as assigned by Executive Director.
  • Human Resource Management: responsible for building/hiring modality QA managers; participates in new hire interviews for all modality QA specialists positions; supervises and mentor's staff; oversees corrective action, as needed, within areas of oversight; assigns work, evaluates performance and ensures on-going competency; oversees the implementation of work schedules (to include off-hours work, as needed to support operations); oversees payroll, manages time off requests, etc.; performs performance evaluations; Ensures QA managers are compliant and comp'd to be a scanning technologist; ensures adequate time is allotted each week for managers to scan;
  • Accreditation Compliance: In collaboration with local leaders, facilitates and oversees the process for the American College of Radiology (ACR) initial and renewal accreditation on all applicable scanners across the enterprise; maintains scanner quality assurance to meet additional third-party agency requirements, including but not limited to: The Joint Commission, CMS, DPH, etc.
  • Technical Management: Partnering with local leaders, modality experts, medical/service chiefs, Executive Director of operations, Vice Chair of Professional Integration, Vice Chair of Technical Integration to facilitate ongoing enterprise protocol harmonization efforts; collaborates with staff, radiologists, department leadership, modality leadership, physicists and QA Managers to ensure exam protocols and image quality are optimized across the system; Collaborating with vendors to collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative statistical data to identify and resolve technical issues or inefficiencies.
  • Analytics, Reporting, Monitoring: Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Yearly reporting on identified metrics (as required) and ad hoc requests, as needed.
  • Financial Management: Reviews and Manages supply/expense budgets for administrative support cost centers and provided input for areas where administrative expenses reside outside of immediate cost centers of oversight.


  • Qualifications
    REQUIRED:
    • Bachelor's degree - Diagnostic Medical Imaging (or equivalent)
    • Advanced modality scanning experience - 5-7 years
    Master's degree preferred.
