We are seeking a Director, Restoration Consultant to join our Building Consulting team. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, highly driven person with a well-rounded skill set, whose responsibilities extend beyond those of traditional project managers and estimators. The ideal person for this role will need to not only have a strong grasp of property damage evaluation and loss estimation but also be flexible and a strategic thinker, able to take on a variety of tasks including building and fostering relationships with new and existing clients.

Our building consulting team participates in projects of all sizes and scopes spanning from residential and middle-market commercial to the most complex economic, industrial, and infrastructure matters. Our experts are dedicated to providing "concierge" level services on high-net-worth personal lines claims.

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Building Consultant who will be responsible for communicating with clients and insured's contacts, scheduling site inspections, performing detailed take-off of property condition, estimating, analyzing, and reporting for complex commercial and residential projects.

The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 15 years of experience working in the mitigation and restoration field or as a Project Manager/Estimator in the construction, roofing, or equivalent fields. The candidate would have a strong desire to understand and learn the methodology for negotiating and settling files in a timely manner and to apply strong analytical and writing skills to expert reports.

  • Industry contacts are a major plus!

Job Responsibilities

  • Interface with clients and project representatives (adjusters, brokers, insureds, TPAs, etc.).
  • Perform field inspections and necessary site visits to evaluate scope of work/damage.
  • Estimate medium to large commercial and residential projects using Xactimate.
  • Document review and analyze schedules, contracts, change orders, correspondence, daily reports, meeting minutes, monthly reports, and any additional documents relating to a project.
  • Provide technical direction to consultants.
  • Collaborate with Business Development Managers to help develop new business opportunities and continue to nurture and strengthen existing client relationships.

Attributes & Background

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or industry level experience.
  • 15 or more years of experience working in the restoration or construction field, with responsibilities related to scheduling, project management and estimating.
  • Proficiency working with Xactimate or RS Means estimating is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word with strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Industry-related degrees, credentials, or certifications (IICRC, HAAG, RRO, PMP etc.)
  • Willingness to travel overnight, out-of-state, or abroad.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong analysis and critical thinking skills.
  • Able to meet deadlines while being detail-oriented.
  • Strong independent work ethic and leadership qualities.
  • Travel is required as necessary.
