The Director of Sales - Amazon is responsible for the daily management of the Amazon e-commerce business. The incumbent will support Vice President of Ecommerce in leading all aspects of the sales management process, including business planning and development, marketing, forecasting, and overall sales optimization. In leading and directing a results-oriented sales team, the incumbent will drive key business analysis used to shape strategy, structure, and revenue/profitability improvement. The position requires the individual to establish, support, and foster a collaborative working partnership with internal functional support departments and with Amazon.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Develop short and long-term business and marketing plans to achieve the revenue and profitability objectives of the Amazon e-commerce business segment.
  • Develop and drive a comprehensive, fluid analytical evaluation of Amazon segments.
  • Influence and drive development of digital content and digital media strategy and execution.
  • Development, organization, and implementation of a productive and efficient sales management and sales support infrastructure.
  • Responsible for key inputs required for weekly staff and monthly business review meetings.
  • Manage the development and corresponding maintenance of accurate, timely forecasts of the business segment and product category level.
  • Facilitate, lead, and drive a disciplined, collaborative internal and external communication philosophy.
  • Knowledge & in depth understanding of key retail POS metrics related to the Amazon.
  • Direct, mentor, and train staff in all aspects of their job/roles.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of sales meetings and key Amazon presentations.
  • Foster a team-oriented and results-driven sales management culture.

Qualifications

Experience/Skills/Education Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years' experience with a minimum of 5 years in a key managerial/decision making capacity.
  • Preferred knowledge of digital marketplace.
  • Performance record of forecasting & driving results while improving processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under tight deadlines and work effectively in a matrix organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required to achieve desired results.
  • Advanced computer skills - MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).
  • Knowledge of SAP systems preferred.
  • The successful candidate will have strong leadership and communications skills, a highly collaborative style, and impeccable business ethics.
  • Travel Required - 15% of time.
