J.S. Held is searching for Directors and Senior Directors to join the US Business Intelligence (BI) arm of our Global Investigations group. The Business Intelligence team offers its clients a variety of services, from pre-transaction due diligence to litigation support to market entry analysis to threat assessments; however, at the heart of our offering is the ability to provide our clients with timely and actionable intelligence. This is a unique opportunity for a highly driven individual to join our rapidly growing team in a client facing role.

Job Responsibilities

• Work closely with clients through the life cycle of a project to ensure high-quality and timely deliverables.
• Help manage a team of consultants and researchers undertake a combination of public records research and human intelligence gathering.
• Lead on proposal writing and proposal delivery; understand the client's requirements, objectives and timeframes.
• Generate new business leads and business relationships across the spectrum of J.S. Held's offerings. This will include attending industry events and producing relevant thought leadership content.
• Identify internal opportunities to provide the BI practice's suite of services to existing J.S. Held clients. Identify external opportunities to incorporate J.S. Held's internal expertise on existing BI projects.
• Identify new research tools and information sources to enhance the overall offering.

Required Qualifications And Experience

• 7+ years of experience working in an investigative or intelligence gathering function, including 3+ years in a client facing role and 3+ years of managing people.
• Experience working with clients in the financial services and legal sectors, with a track record of generating and managing client relationships.
• A strong understanding of US-focused proprietary databases and the US legal and regulatory environment.
• Experience conducting interviews and utilizing other HUMINT collection techniques.
• Experience working in an international environment; understanding the importance of cross border collaboration and synergy.
• BA or higher, preferably in a subject that requires strong written skills and the ability to synthesize large amounts of information.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of programs.

Preferred Qualifications And Experience

• Experience working with litigation and/or disputes lawyers
• Experience using social media monitoring tools or other technologies to improve deliverables
• Experience conducting research in other jurisdictions (preferably in Canada or the Caribbean)
• Proficiency in either Spanish or Mandarin languages.

Work location

Our flexible work environment allows employees to work remotely, when needed. Candidates will ideally be located in close proximity to Senior Managing Directors/Managing Directors in the Global Investigations group in New York, Washington DC, Houston or Los Angeles.
