The Veterinary TechnicalMarketing Director is responsible for the overall management of the VeterinaryTechnical Marketing Team and overseeing and leading technical support to thesales and marketing efforts of Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health. This includes the development and managementof the veterinary technical marketing business plan and implementation of theBIAH sales/marketing plan to assure maximum distribution and market penetrationof BIAH products within BIAH guidelines, policies and directives. This person will be directly responsible fordeveloping the Key Opinion Leader Program Strategy across all of Marketing andVeterinary Professional Services. Thisperson will develop and execute the BIAH strategy for the management of keyveterinary and professional organizations (e.g. AAFP, AAHA, etc). This position also ensures equal andconsistent application of established policies and procedures in the managementof employees to meet or exceed sales goals.

Duties &Responsibilities\:

  • Will oversee a teamof four veterinary technical managers in alignment with the Marketing BrandFranchise strategy.

  • Provide leadershipand strategic direction to Veterinary Technical Marketing team and supportVeterinary Professional Services team to ensure sales and marketing goals aremet through alignment of professional services team and sales force. Developand execute Key Opinion Leader strategy in coordination with VPS, Sales,Marketing, and R&D.

  • Ensures that theVeterinary Technical Marketing team is staffed with qualified, highlymotivated veterinarians. Supports learning opportunities andencourages others to own their careers and take full advantage of BI careerdevelopment offerings. Drivesperformance management of all personnel in the region including alldisciplinary action to ensure personnel are meeting or exceeding expectationsin their roles.

  • Participate as keymember on cross-functional teams involving Marketing, Sales, R&D, etc.,actively soliciting team expertise and ensure execution of all marketingstrategic and tactical sales activities.   • Spends appropriateamount of time developing customers, networks, Key Opinion Leaders, and theirrelationships to foster Company business. Responds to the needs of the internal and external customer in a timelyand professional manner. Contributes tothe development of the regional business plans. Effectively manage expenses and direct team members to invest inactivities that provide highest value to customers and yield the largest ROI.

  • Performs all Companybusiness in accordance with all regulations (e.g., EEO,USDA,

  • FDA, etc.) andCompany policy and procedures. When violations are noted/observed they are tobe immediately reported to management. Demonstrates high ethical andprofessional standards with all business contacts in order to maintain BIAH'sexcellent reputation in the community.

  • Responsible forcoordinating with the Director, Strategic Veterinary Services, to execute andmanage this strategic plan. This person will develop the Standard OperatingProcedure for the identification, management, and support of veterinaryprofessional societies. This SOP will bedeveloped in coordination with the Directors of BIAH Marketing Brand Franchisesand will support the business goals of the PET VET business unit.


Requirements\:

  • Doctoral degree(e.g. PhD, MD) in Veterinary Sciences from an accredited institution.

  • MBA preferred

  • Eight (8) years of experiencein an animal health related position is required

  • One to three (1-3)years of leadership experience required.

  • Demonstrated strongleadership, negotiation and project management skills.

  • Excellentanalytical, communication, creativity and organization/planning skills

  • Ability to travel.

  • Valid Driver'sLicense and an acceptable driving record.

Eligibility Requirements\:

  • Must be legallyauthorized to work in the United States without restriction.

  • Must be willing totake a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)

  • Must be 18 years ofage or older
