POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides effective daily coordination and monitoring of Patient Transport services activities through timely and accurate dispatch and
management of patient transportation requests and efficient assignments of transport personnel.
Performs other duties as assigned to assist in achieving overall department and hospital goals.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous dispatcher, transport or hospital experience is desirable, but not required.
Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of
expertise.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated competency in the operation of dispatcher hardware, software programs, page and phone handling systems. Proficient
use of a Windows environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:
Office/Clinical setting. Exposure Class 1.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Medium work: standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling.

WORK CONTACT GROUP:
All services, employees, medical staff, patients, visitors.

SUPERVISED BY:
Manager or Coordinator

Patient Transporters
