Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Driver Trainer is to implement training programs and procedures designed to prepare new Professional Concrete Delivery Drivers to perform their job duties safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Maintain a positive attitude and be willing to go above and beyond to help new Professional Concrete Delivery Drivers develop competence and confidence in the following areas:
    • Awareness and Adherence to Company Policies & Procedures
    • Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance
    • Safe Operation of Equipment
    • Knowledge of Our Products
    • Efficient and Courteous Delivery of Products
    • Maintaining a Safe and Positive Work Environment
  • Evaluate trainees driving skills and safe work habits, and provide immediate and constructive feedback to trainees
  • Assist with the development of training materials
  • Assist with the orientation and training of newly hired drivers
  • Complete daily progress reports on driver trainee progress based on a defined set of criteria
  • Develop a Performance Plan for new mixer drivers as they transition to their assigned plants
  • Assist in ongoing safety training and coaching of existing mixer drivers
  • Represent the company in a positive manner at all times
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and or Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with at least 5 years as a satisfactory performance as a Professional Concrete Delivery Driver.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have a Class A or Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and be able to pass DOT physical and drug screen

Computer skills

Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs with specific experience using PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
