Basic Job Functions:

We are seeking a creative, process-minded, effective communicator to join our team. The Electrical Engineer will be tasked with providing technical support for maintenance and operations, designing and implementing innovative solutions to enhance production, designing and troubleshooting electrical components and systems, performing electrical analysis on various systems, designing and troubleshooting electrical and software systems, writing electrical specifications for projects, creating and maintaining electrical documentation, managing capital projects, and seeking out and implementing process improvement projects across the production site. Each of these tasks have prerequisites of safe working practices and a mindset of leadership in safety.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• The ability and desire to work safely and provide guidance for an accident free workplace
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and two years of relevant work experience or five years of relevant works experience in lieu of a degree
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial controls
• Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience identifying deficiencies in electrical processes and developing improvements
• Experience in melting / casting operations, and/or rolling mill operations
• Experience in an industrial environment
• Familiarity with Process Automation and Control technologies
• Excellent computer skills
• Ability to travel up to 10%
