Electrical Technician

We are looking for an Electrical Technician to join our Dixie® Darlington Maintenance group! This individual will support our Plates department as well as our Distribution Center. This role creates value by ensuring reliability of our equipment to help meet and exceed the facility's goals for quality and production.

This position requires working 12 hour rotating shifts, with a $2/hr. shift differential

Starting wage dependent on skills, experience and education.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Actively engage in and drive our company's safety and corporate culture
  • Identify hazards and honor controls to reach the appropriate risk tolerance
  • Proactively identify, gain approval for and lead implementation of safety improvement opportunities
  • Apply electrical and electronics expertise to troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment controls
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical and/or controls problems on all manufacturing equipment in accordance with plant policies and procedures
  • Share knowledge capability with peers and customers to maximize value creation opportunity

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Work a 12 hour rotating shift, holidays, weekends, overtime and on call hours as needed
  • Work at heights and in confined spaces
  • 2 years electrical technical degree OR 5 or more years of experience as an Industrial Electrician
  • Experience planning procuring and documenting activities for the enhancement of electrical and instrumentation maintenance within the facility
  • Experience with single and 3-phase electrical repair and troubleshooting up to 480 volts
  • Experience reviewing, developing, and/or modifying work orders for all plant equipment and entering work orders into the facility maintenance system
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical controls, PLCs, AC and DC motor controller and drives

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Associate or Technical degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems, Instrumentation, Electronic Technology AND at least 2 years of electrical/electronic and/or instrument & control troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience troubleshooting Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) Control Logix/RS Logix
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PanelView and FactoryTalk
  • Experience with servo systems
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics to troubleshoot electrical and electronics issues
