As an Emergency Dept Technician, you will delivery patient care and perform clinical procedures within the scope of your licensure under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and Provider.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Assisting in implementing each patient's plan of care by performing common clinical procedures and other tasks within your scope of practice
Assisting with observation of patients, gathering data and identifying patient care needs
Responding to emergency situations
Assisting with patient transport and transfer
Assisting with cleaning, stocking and maintenance of department equipment and supplies
Adhering to safety and risk management standards
Assisting with clerical and communication tasks to support patient care
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must meet both education and current Washington State License requirements.
High school diploma (or GED equivalent) and completion of one of the following:
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program OR
Medical Assistant program OR
Certified Nursing Assistant program OR
Licensed Practical Nurse program OR
Completion of one year of nursing school.
AND
Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA.), OR Current Registered Nursing Assistant (RNA.) either recorded by the state as received and in processing, or completed; OR
Current Medical Assistant-Cert (CMA); OR
Current Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R); OR Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist (MA-P) OR
The forms required to initiate the Washington State Medical Assistant-P and/or Medical Assistant-R application process must be submitted to the Department of Health within 90 days of employment in the position, as evidenced by a proof of payment receipt. Certification must be received with 150 days of date of hire in the position.
Note: A hospital may elect to limit acceptable certifications to Current Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R) and Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist (MA-P).
Current Washington State license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification
