Major Responsibilities:

  • Assures that the line inspector duties as defined in OP09.07, LASP1043 and LHRF392 are fully complied with.
  • Continually reviews product for quality concerns as it reaches the end of the assembly line (prior to the product being removed from the assembly line) to the established checklist, LQAF469 and the corresponding speed build checklist.
  • Works closely with the Production Leads and the Area Leaders to have errors corrected immediately by the associate(s) producing the error.
  • The Line inspector is not responsible for correcting / repairing issues found.
  • Line inspector will use the established database to track/document all discrepancies found during the end of line inspection process.
  • Line inspector is not assigned to another work process when performing line inspector duties.
  • Line inspector will not be required to work the assembly production line(s) when not assigned to the end of line inspection process.
  • Line Inspector will be trained to and expected to perform off-line work processes when not assigned to perform end of line inspection. This may include, but may not be limited to the following:
    • Hub to Rotor Assembly
    • Cut / Coil Air Lines
    • Cam Tube Assembly
    • Paint Line Drop Station (to Assembly Queues)
    • Spider Bushing
    • Beam Bushing
  • Will meet with the Production Manager, the Quality Manager and the Area Leader, at a minimum of once per month, to discuss line inspector data, what is going well and what obstacles may need to be addressed.

Requirements:
  • Technically competent to learn and properly inspect all workstations in assembly.
  • Will be required to attend and successfully complete the line inspector training course with a Master Trainer
  • Will be observed performing the line inspector inspection process every two months, at a minimum, by a Master Trainer or an approved Qualified Observer.
  • Has demonstrated good communication skills, excellent work performance and a commitment to quality and following the quality systems.
  • Does not currently have any documented disciplinary actions for quality issues / behaviors and no recurring quality issues / behaviors that has been documented via line inspector data or the Hyundai/ADB added inspection checks.
  • Experience with assembly production processes is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to attend to work on a regular basis.
