Job Description

EAG Laboratories, a Eurofins company, provides engineering testing services to leading edge tech companies in a diverse range of industries and business sectors who design, manufacture, or incorporate electronics for tomorrow's technology driven world.

We are looking for an ATE Engineerto join our Santa Clara, CA lab. This position will work with ATE applications engineers, internal groups, and customers to support production and engineering functions on the test floor.

Additionally, this position will provide new and sustaining support to the test floor to ensure products are properly being tested for production, engineering samples, engineering experiments, read points, and customer-related requests.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Take a completed test program through all the steps required (engineering, documentation, and checkout) to release-to-production so the test floor can run programs without engineering support from test engineers.
  • Provide first and front-line engineering support for any test program issues which involves yield, test program functionality, and/or interface docking issues with handlers and probers, etc.
  • Work with ATE vendors to bring up new or used equipment, evaluate and validate before release to use.
  • Install, restore, upgrade new OS/Application software for existing testers in test floor.
  • Work with IT department to ensure network can provide all security requirements for customers IP, data, and remote connection function.
  • Modify test programs (make minimal modifications for production purposes)
  • Set up wafer maps.
  • Set up and debug probers: Opus probers, TSK probers.
  • Setup and debug handler issues; Seiko Epson and others
  • Sustaining production engineering work
  • Interface with customer engineering team to assist in the release of production-ready test programs on all tester platforms.
  • Interface with engineering team to disposition engineering hold lots
  • Provide direction to production planners ensuring customer products and services are delivered on time.
  • Work with all operation teams to manage customer samples.
  • Follows established safety protocols and procedures at all times.
  • Requirements of the Technology Control Plan are followed at all times to ensure export control compliance.
  • Ensures compliance with quality system documents and processes.
  • Maintains specified records of test data and ensures Good Documentation Practices
  • Protects confidential information and proprietary processes.
  • Handles customer materials and company equipment in a responsible and efficient manner.
  • Is familiar with relevant quality system documents and complies with all system requirements.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
Work Schedule: 8am-5pm M-F

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • BS degree in Electrical (or Computer) Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the semiconductor test industry
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
  • Must be familiar with production operations and peripherals on a test floor. Has the capability or the ability to learn operation and setup of testers, peripherals, test programs, and other functions related to running test floor operations.
  • Willingness and available to:
  • Work flexible hours to support 24 x 7 manufacturing environment.
  • Respond to call as necessary during off hours.
  • Occasionally travel outside of the US on business
  • Knowledge of online WIP and scheduling software
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Must be a proficient communicator and listener.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Needs to have excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Computer literate, high level of accuracy and detail oriented. Must be able to handle multiple functions at the same time and maintain good organizational skills.
  • Having basic Network theory and remote connection to support remote customers.
  • Relative business experience, a plus
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time.
  • Ability to continuously operate a personal computer or lab equipment for extended periods of time (4 or more hours).
  • Ability to operate a keyboard and other lab equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead
  • Ability to communicate clearly and understandably ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting.
  • Ability to handle small and fragile devices with tweezers and /or fingers.
  • Require close distance visual acuity with or without correction (Glasses, Contacts, etc.)
  • Must be willing and able to wear PPE such as hard-hat, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, laboratory coat and/or any other devices or equipment that is required.
  • Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
  • Ability to move equipment or items up to 50 lbs.

Additional Information

Compensation Range: $90,000 - $110,000 (Pay rate is commensurate with experience and degree of technical expertise.)
